Our Purpose
Founded in May 2026, The Matt and Joan Dorman Foundation exists to bring people together to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Through charitable giving, community partnerships, fundraising events, and volunteer engagement, we support a variety of nonprofit organizations working to address the diverse needs of our community.
Each year, the Foundation partners with selected nonprofit organizations to raise funds, increase awareness, and expand their impact. By leveraging the power of philanthropy, music, and community connection, we strive to help whomever, however, and whenever we can.
About Us
The Matt & Joan Dorman Foundation was established with a simple belief: when people come together, they can make a lasting difference.
The goal of the Foundation is to support a wide range of charitable causes and nonprofit organizations throughout our community. Recognizing that needs exist across many sectors—including health, education, human services, youth development, animal welfare, veterans' services, and community enrichment—we seek opportunities to provide meaningful support where it can have the greatest impact.
Through community fundraising events, charitable contributions, and strategic partnerships, the Foundation raises awareness and resources for local nonprofit organizations. Each year, we select nonprofit partners to collaborate with during our signature spring and fall fundraising events, sharing proceeds to help advance their important work.
Music is an important part of our mission and events. Matt Dorman and his band, Band Dorman, perform at Foundation events to help bring people together in support of worthy causes and create memorable experiences that inspire generosity.
At its heart, the Foundation is about neighbors helping neighbors and creating opportunities to improve lives throughout our community.
Our Logo
The Foundation's butterfly logo is based on an original painting created by co-founder Joan Dorman.
The butterfly represents hope, transformation, generosity, and the positive impact that can occur when people come together to help others.
